We understand that choosing an Accountant is a big decision. We want to empower you with clear and honest pricing information to ensure you’re well informed to make the choice that’s right for you.

“How much does an Accountant cost?”

Pricing is something that can be difficult for Accountants to address as there are so many variables which come in to play when arriving at the price of our services for our clients. We have clients paying us anything from £200 to £12,000 per annum, depending on the level of support, the size of the business, how they keep their records, and the services they need.

We want to give you as clear an idea as possible as to what we will charge you, as well as the factors which increase or decrease our fees, so we thought we’d lay it all out here.

We offer many services. These generally come under the categories of Self-Assessment Tax Returns, Limited Company compliance services, Tax planning, and Business Development services. Let’s look at the price variations under each section.

All our fees are quoted net of VAT -i.e. we add VAT to the price quoted. This is mainly because most of our clients are VAT registered businesses. So if we quote £200 the actual amount you pay is £240. We get the £200 and we pay the VAT of £40 to HMRC)

Self-Assessment Tax Returns pricing

Simple Self-Assessment (e.g. Only income is salary and dividends) – These range from around £200 to £400 per annum as they are relatively straightforward to complete.

Self-Assessment with rental properties – Again these can vary in price from around £400 to £600. Variables which affect the price are things like number of properties, number of transactions, how and how well your records are kept etc.

For example, if you have one property with minimal expenses, and you record them all simply and clearly, then your return will be a lot less work than if you have 10 properties and you haven’t kept track of your expenses tidily. Basically, in the latter example, we end up having to spend a lot of time bookkeeping, so the price we charge needs to reflect that.

Self Employed Self-Assessment – Again there this can vary, usually from £600 to £1,500. The price will vary depending on the size of your business, how your records are kept (if your records are on Xero and kept up to date then we’ll charge less than if on a spreadsheet, for example), and whether you want a full set of accounts or not.

Limited Company Compliance pricing

This can vary a lot too and there are many different things which can impact the price of our compliance services. Generally, our clients pay from £1,500 to £6,000 per annum.

What’s typically included in compliance:

  • Accounts
  • Directors Self-Assessment
  • Corporation Tax Return
  • Monthly payroll
  • VAT return review or preparation.
  • Pre-Year End review – mainly to make sure that you pay the least amount of tax for the year.
  • Complimentary Client Review – an hour looking having a more strategic look at your business goals and how you’re making progress towards achieving them.

These prices again vary depending on how many employees you have and how often they are paid, how complex your business structure is, number of directors, how well your records are kept, if you use Xero or not.

Business Development Services pricing

Business Plan – We offer our Business Planning service for £1,000 to £1,500. Again, this can vary depending on business complexity, size, and number of directors. With more than one director there is an added element of facilitation that goes on to get all directors on the same page.

Financial Forecasting – This also varies from £1,000 to £1,500, depending on similar variables. It’s also essential for your bookkeeping to be on Xero for this service to work effectively.

Monthly Coaching – from £300 per month.

Quarterly Coaching – from £500 per quarter

Tax Planning pricing

Our tax planning and advisory services are bespoke, and the cost will vary depending on the tax saving, technical skills and knowledge needed, time involved, value added, and the risk that is involved. Where possible we will agree a fixed fee in advance of commencing any work. Sometimes it is difficult to know how much work is involved until we’ve had a closer look, however we will always be open and transparent about our fees. In circumstances where we can provide potential substantial tax saving, we will agree a percentage of the actual tax saving we achieve for you.

An investment, not a cost

We are here to help you build a better business, saving you time and money, and reducing stress. Our services are an investment for your business and our prices reflect the value you will receive.
